God, Oh God.
Why taunt me like that?
Asked for love in the most perfect way possible and you want to know how much patience I have.
God, oh God,
I’ll wait, I’ll have faith.
I trust your hand, your ways, your deliberate grace.
For careful precision and outcomes
don’t align with clocks or dates.
God, oh God,
help her figure her worth.
Tell her what she deserves,
beyond fleeting words or worldly treasures.
More than all the coins tossed in all the wells,
tell her waiting is worth while and all’ll be well.
God, oh God,
thank you for this light in my life, this spark.
Thank you for the battles that carved my heart.
The fights that made me thrive.
Every lesson, a blessing in disguise.
So I sing this prayer to free myself within,
I sing this hymn to free myself from sin.
Thank you for love, for trials, thank you for everything.
